Today, Jason Whitlock of Fox Sports makes the compelling case:
They’re done. Miami’s Big Three — LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Add Erik Spoelstra and front-running Heat fans, too. Toast. All of them.
Which would be utterly compelling, except this is the same man who wrote:
We’re looking at a Miami team being every bit as dominant during these playoffs as it promised to be during its preseason championship celebration.
To be fair, going out on a limb and watching that limb snap under you is an occupational hazard of a sports writer. Still, it’s amusing this super shift in hyperbole. It’s like watching the extreme weather on the news lately: from a hurricane to a tornado story in the blink of an eye.
I’m going to stay close to the tree trunk and say that maybe the Heat ought to take some time to think about think about things in light of current labor negotiations. The entire NBA might have a new look next season.
